Welcome to Whitharral Independent School District. This is the home of the Proud Panthers on the World Wide Web. Our school has an enrollment of around 180 students in grades K-12. This enrollment includes many transfer students from area towns.

Whitharral is located on U.S. Highway 385 ten miles north of Levelland in north central Hockley County.  The area surrounding Whitharral has a rich history in farming and oil production.

Whitharral ISD prides itself on its "Commitment to Excellence" and has a strong winning tradition in both academics and athletics.  The administration, faculty, and staff work hard to prepare students in all grades for a successful life beyond public school.

Thursday night the JH showed up strong with their first win of the season.  This Thursday, September 21, the JH will travel to Rule and play at 6:00.  Varsity did not pull off a win, but are gearing up strong for this week.  Congratulations goes out to Kody Gonzales who was the winner of the Big Hit award for the past two games.  This week the team will rally back against Klondike here this Friday @ 7:30.  This is a change from the original schedule.  Cross Country ran this past weekend in Smyer.  The students showed up and had some great placings.  Picture Day is Tuesday.  Order forms need to be turned in when pictures are taken.  There will be a 4-H meeting @ 6:30 this Thursday. We will have a guest speaker talking about his time volunteering during Hurricane Harvey.  Other topics will include 4-H week and One Day 4-H.  PTO will be having a PTO meeting Thursday, September 21, right after the 4-H Meeting around 7:30.  Also, please sign up for PTO remind @whitpto to stay up to date with everything that is going on.  Hope to see everyone there.  There will be pictures Tuesday the 19th, seniors and individuals.  4th grade will be taking a trip to Levelland to participate in Ag Day.  The students will learn about areas of agriculture and how it plays an important role in their life.  You should receive a notification about your students grades early this week.  Just a reminder this is a short six weeks. Don’t forget the pep rallies at 3:05 pm in the Old Gym!  Please, continue to come out and support the Panthers not only on the field, but in all areas!

There is a change in the schedule for this week.  We are changing days the Early Release is on.  This Thursday, September 21, we will release all students at 12:01.  Thursday’s Pep Rally will be at 11:45 for JH, then lunch afterwards. Friday, September 22, will be a normal day with Pep Rally at 3:05.  Sorry for any confusion/inconvenience, but we want to be able to allow everyone to support the JH on their travels to Rule.
